BHIVE Workspace conducted a mega event on Sharing Economy

BHIVE Workspace conducted a mega event on Sharing Economy at its centre in HSR Sector-6, Bangalore to celebrate the Sharing Economy revolution. The event saw overwhelming interest from the start-up community of Bangalore. More than 600 people registered. With 300+ attendees, which included over 200 founders, co-founders and CEOs from a wide range of start-ups. The event was watched by over 2000 people Live on Facebook and Twitter. The topic of the first panel discussion was “Don’t own, just Share” had Gaurav Arora, Head of StartUp Ecosystem at Amazon APAC. Rohin Pinto, Head Karnataka at OYO Rooms, Aravind Sanka Co-Founder of Rapido, Shesh Paplikar, Co-founder BHIVE Workspace and Shan Gehlot, Founder MyIndianStay. The panel was moderated by Sindhu Kashyap of Yourstory. “Be it developed or developing country, the sharing economy is only helping us better the quality of living” Shesh Paplikar. Rohin Pinto of OYO Rooms added “Bring efficiency, bring down cost and increased affordability that’s what sharing economy does”. “We helped more than 70,000 people with more than 10,000 people who were willing to share their bikes” said Aravind Sanka of Rapido.

This was followed by a keynote speech by Zoom Car Co-founder and CEO, Greg Moran. He emphasized on the power of sharing economy and insights into how he started Zoom Car.

“The real estate prices are going up, fuel prices are up that means we are at cusp of collaborative consumption. Our new program the Zoomcar Associate Program, (ZAP), is a true Peer-to-Peer car lending scheme. In the Zap scheme, a person who wishes to buy a new car / upgrade their old car can do so in partnership with Zoomcar. ZAP enables the participants to register their new car on the Zoomcar platform whenever they want and solicit bookings from the customer base of Zoomcar.” The next panel discussed “Sharing Economy Trends – The VC’s weigh in”. It included speakers such as Prayank Swaroop of Accel partners, Alok Sharma, an IAN Investor, Shubanhkar Bhattacharya of Kae Capital and Anuj Duggal from Google Lauchpad program, Google. The panel was moderated by Nivedita Bhattacharyajee from Tech In Asia.

Edureka, one of the leading online Education start-ups, leveraging the power of sharing economy to make education more accessible, was the main sponsor.
